03/13 - Friday
My Exemption Check on Portability – 9:00-10:15am
In Collaborative Practice, achieving a fair, transparent, and lasting settlement hinges on uncovering and accurately valuing all marital assets — including those that are often overlooked. This presentation by My Exemption Check explores portability — the ability to transfer significant property tax benefits (such as the Florida Save Our Homes assessment difference) — as a valuable, sometimes under-appreciated marital asset in divorce settlements.
Portability can save thousands of dollars in ongoing property taxes, but without careful analysis and intentional negotiation, one spouse may unknowingly forfeit this benefit during property division. This session will help Collaborative professionals understand what portability is, why it matters in a financial settlement, and how to integrate portability considerations into the Collaborative process to protect client interests.
Presented by Casey Vockell and Steve Vockell
Artificial Intelligence in Collaborative Practice – 10:30am-12:00pm
Artificial Intelligence is rapidly changing how professionals work—and Collaborative Practice is no exception. This presentation explores practical, ethical, and client-centered ways AI can support Collaborative professionals, from streamlining workflows and improving communication to enhancing decision-making and client education. Attendees will gain insight into how to thoughtfully integrate AI tools while staying aligned with the core values of collaboration, transparency, and trust.
Presented by Chris Hopkins
04/10 - Friday
Enhancing Supervised Visitation with Soberlink Monitoring: Addressing ACES and AUD to Support Parent Recovery and Transition to Unsupervised Parenting – 9:00-10:15am
Explore how ACEs and Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) impact families in supervised visitation, and how collaborative monitoring strategies can support child safety, parent recovery, and coordinated transitions toward unsupervised parenting to help reduce parental conflict, supporting recovery in a non-punitive way, and using structured tools to protect children while helping families transition toward healthier co-parenting
Presented by Dr. Malissa Tigges
When One Size Does Not Fit All: Designing Flexible Collaborative Practice – 10:30am-12:00pm
This session invites collaborative professionals to explore how unbundled professional services and thoughtfully designed systems can expand access, flexibility, and sustainability within Collaborative Practice. Drawing on real-world experience from a private law firm that has reimagined service delivery, this interactive presentation examines “Collaborative Practice 2.0”—including limited-scope representation, creative integration of financial and mental-health professionals, and practical technology tools that support families with diverse needs.
Participants will gain concrete strategies for fitting new collaborative models to real clients, strengthening interdisciplinary connections, and increasing access to collaborative services while maintaining professional integrity, efficiency, and well-being.
Presented by AJ Skogerson
05/08 - Friday
Our Family Wizard on Domestic Violence – 9:00-10:15am
Domestic violence presents profound challenges within family law — affecting safety, communication, trust, and the well-being of children. This presentation from Our Family Wizard equips Collaborative Practice professionals with critical insights and practical strategies for supporting families where domestic violence or coercive control is present, while preserving the core values of safety and respect fundamental to the Collaborative model.
Attendees will explore how technology-enabled tools — including structured, secure platforms for co-parenting communication — can reduce opportunities for conflict, document interactions transparently, and support compliance with safety protocols and court orders. We’ll address the legal, psychological, and practical dimensions of working with clients impacted by domestic violence, and how to integrate these considerations into Collaborative Practice effectively.
Presented by Steven Bradley
Breaking All of the Rules: Setting the Stage to Create Collaborative Cases – 10:30am-12:00pm
Are your assumptions and standard practices getting in the way of creating Collaborative cases? Is it time to rethink how you and your staff approach the client and the case from the very moment of initial contact? And what can you do to keep the door open for Collaborative Practice when the answer is not immediately “yes?” This controversial and highly interactive workshop will explore breaking the “rules” of family law to create Collaborative cases.
Presented by Adam Cordover
Bonus Ethics Presentation
Anyone who registers for the full three-part Virtual Conference package will receive access to a Bonus Ethics Presentation, to be presented after the conference series concludes.
